The KPI
The KPI FactoryWidget® displays one master manufacturing metric and up to 3 sub-metrics on a single FactoryWidget, showing progress towards a goal for each metric.
The progress bars for each metric change color based on thresholds you set relative to your measured production value.
All text on the KPI is configurable to match your business terminology and the KPI background is available in a variety of colors.
Each manufacturing metric Setpoint may be driven by a tag in your data source or through manual value entry. Displaying this setpoint is optional.
You can configure a link to display any web page when the user clicks on the value on the KPI.
Example configuration screens for the KPI are shown below. Because of the flexibility and power of the KPI, not all configuration screens are shown here. Consult the FactoryWidgets Administrator’s Guide for full details.

Configuring the KPI takes just seconds
- Configure the name of your WidgetServer that is connected to your data source
- Set the refresh rate (5 seconds to 90 seconds)
- For the master metric, set a caption and specify a Tagname in your Data Source that you wish to display
- Set the unit of measure
- Configure the Goal Setpoint (displaying the goal value is optional)
- Repeat for the other 3 metrics as desired
- Set the color configuration for the progress bar for each metric of interest, so you’ll be alerted to changes of interest to you
- Set the title and tooltip
- Set an optional User-defined Web Link
- Click OK and you’ll see Live data!
You can save your configuration to share with others or in case you have to reload your computer using the save icon. Saved configurations are stored on the WidgetServer. (Click to learn more about global and saved configurations)
